The UK Thalassaemia Society has long recognised that it needs a presence in the North and Midlands where there is a high prevalence of thalassaemia, especially in the larger cities like Birmingham, Manchester and Bradford.
In April 2011 UKTS Coordinator Elaine Miller moved to Yorkshire where she is now based. She will be attending clinics and local patient meetings when possible, as well as continuing to organise local UKTS Roadshows and conferences.
Elaine is also involved in the outreach work of the Society, giving educational presentations about thalassaemia to young people and local groups.
If you have any issues you would like to discuss with Elaine or you would like her to visit your clinic or
local support group, please contact her by:
UKTS is grateful for the support of the Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity; which is partially funding this project.
